You inherit a remote patch of forest from your grandfather, thinking you’ve finally found some peace and quiet. But pretty quickly, you realize this place isn’t what you expected. The cabin’s falling apart. The security cameras barely work.

And your only help is an old tape recorder, your grandfather’s voice crackling through the static. At first, he sounds calm, maybe even fond of this place. But as the tapes play on, the mood shifts—he wasn’t reminiscing. He was warning you. Now, you have just one goal: make it out alive.

But you can’t just hide and hope they go away. When the power fails or food runs low, you have to step out into the dark. You’ll cross the yard, gather supplies, fix what’s broken, and try to keep the old generators humming. Windrose

Most nights, you’re holed up in a tiny control room, eyes glued to flickering camera feeds, trying to stretch what little power you have left. The woods outside aren’t empty. Something—or several somethings—are always out there, watching.

Every creature is different, shifting through the trees, lurking just outside the glow of your lights, waiting for you to mess up. They won’t leave unless you give them what they want. Sometimes it’s meat. Sometimes it’s blood. Sometimes… something worse. Get it wrong, hesitate for even a second, and you’re finished.

Even the livestock behind your fence matters—sometimes they’re all that stands between you and the monsters in the woods. Every trip outside feels like a coin toss. Something’s always out there, and you can never quite see all the way to the treeline.

This isn’t a cozy retreat—it’s a ruthless fight to stay alive. Mistakes get you killed fast. Every resource counts, and the fear only gets worse with each sleepless night. For six long nights, the tension ratchets up. Somewhere along the way, you’ll find stray notes and hidden recordings. Piece them together, and you start to understand what really happened here—what your grandfather knew, and what’s still hiding in these woods.
