In Trick-or-Treat Land, you play as Gumball, a tiny traveler who crash-lands in a weird, spooky world that feels straight out of a Halloween dream. The game runs about eight hours, and it’s a clear love letter to the old Game Boy Color days—Exquisite Laundry Pet made it, and Mega Cat Studios put it out there.

The story kicks off simple enough: you need to fix a Scarecrow’s busted magic by finding seven Hallowed Patches. That’s your ticket home. But things don’t stay simple for long.

Pretty soon, you’re not just running errands—you’re fighting to save the whole land from the “Chaos Sweets,” a creepy force that wants to wreck Halloween by turning all the candy into coal. No one wants that. WiZmans World Re Try

The battles are where things get interesting. Instead of endless grinding, you’re thrown into this turn-based Trick-or-Treating system that actually makes you think. The overworld’s full of little puzzles and oddball characters—like the candy cornfolk in Corndale—so there’s always something to poke at.

When you run into trouble, you’ll need to get the hang of spells and whip up potions if you want to make it past enemies like the Boysenberry Boys or sneaky mob bosses. The further you wander, especially into places like the maze-like Mean Street, the tougher things get.

And you don’t have to do it all solo. Along the way, you can pick up a ragtag crew of local weirdos who jump in to help during fights. They handle themselves, so you can focus on staying alive and managing your “magick.”

There’s more than just the main goal, too—hidden secrets, wild side quests, and dialogue choices that actually matter fill out the world and its stories. The game dropped on February 19, 2026, and you can grab it digitally on Steam or, if you’re feeling old-school, snag a real Game Boy Color cartridge. It’s retro through and through.

HOW TO DOWNLOAD

3. Once The Gumball in Trick-or-Treat Land is downloaded, right-click the .zip file and select “Extract to Gumball in Trick-or-Treat Land ”(You’ll need 7-Zip for this, get it here).
4. Open the Gumball in Trick-or-Treat Land folder and run the exe application.
5. Have a blast playing! Remember to run the game as administrator. If you get any missing dll errors, check for a Redist or _CommonRedist folder and install all the programs in there.
