GAME OVERVIEW

In Wizmans World Re:Try, you step into the shoes of a wandering wizard desperate to escape Wizarest—a strange city where everyone’s been stuck for a hundred years, memories wiped clean.

You’re the first person in ages to push past the city’s dungeons, and the story actually bends around the choices you make. You’re not alone, though. Three fairy-like homunculi tag along, acting as both your bodyguards and the secret sauce behind your team’s growth.

The heart of the game is its turn-based combat. It’s not just about brute force; you’ve got to think ahead. Up top, a timeline shows you who goes next and what status effects are in play, so timing your attacks really matters. Aonaran Nevaeh

Battles revolve around a classic elemental system—Water, Fire, Wind, Earth—where matching the right element can make all the difference. Chaining attacks and stacking bonus effects helps you crush monsters faster, so each round feels like a little tactical puzzle you have to solve.

The thing that really sets this game apart is the Anima Fusion system. After a fight, your homunculi can suck up the souls of defeated monsters, totally changing their stats, abilities, and even how they look. It’s wild. You’re constantly tweaking and evolving your team, always chasing after that next powerful monster deeper in the dungeon.

Wizmans World started out as a Jaleco release back in 2009. This remaster stays true to the original’s tough-as-nails difficulty and charming pixel graphics but adds a bunch of upgrades—there’s a reworked soundtrack by soLi, better menus, and smoother gameplay for today’s devices.

Controller or keyboard, it doesn’t matter. You get a cult classic RPG, refreshed and ready, with that old-school flavor and a monster-evolution hook that keeps things fresh.
