GAME OVERVIEW

You’re a rat, and your mission is to climb! In *Rat Climber*, your only goal is to reach the top of the world and snag that cheese. You’ll need to navigate tricky vertical mazes and make daring jumps, but watch out—one wrong move and you’ll drop back down. Himegashima Island

Just a heads up: you don’t ragdoll when you fall, so you can still control Ratty in mid-air and try to recover some of your progress. I just like this gif from an early build because it’s hilarious.

This game isn’t about collecting tons of stuff like other platformers. Instead, focus on climbing and exploring. There might be a hidden cheese piece in each world, and finding them all could unlock something special…

Everything in the game has precise collision. If there’s a small hole or ledge, you can probably walk on it or squeeze through. Think like a rat to navigate these vertical labyrinths!

Download Buttons

There are no power-ups or special moves. You only have 3 controls: Jump, dash, and walk. The dash lets you jump farther and a bit higher, while the walk helps with precise movements and stops you from falling off ledges.

If you fall, you might be able to recover some progress because each zone stacks above the previous one, and you still have some control while airborne, but it’s not guaranteed.

Can you guide Ratty to the top of the world and reach cheese heaven? Test your skills in what’s possibly the best 3D ratformer ever!

Got the demo but unsure where to start? Check out the default controls (you can change run and walk keybindings in the options).

HOW TO DOWNLOAD

Click the Download button below and you’ll be redirected.
Wait for 5 seconds and then hit the blue ‘download now’ button. The download will start, so just hang tight.
Once The Rat Climber is downloaded, right-click the .zip file and select “Extract to The Rat Climber ” (You’ll need 7-Zip for this, get it here).
Open the The Rat Climber folder and run the exe application.
Have a blast playing! Remember to run the game as administrator. If you get any missing dll errors, check for a Redist or _CommonRedist folder and install all the programs in there.
