GAME OVERVIEW

This is a colony-building automation game where you start with almost nothing on a strange, procedurally generated alien planet. At first, your colony’s just a tiny outpost, and you have to explore the unknown, gather resources, and begin setting up small-scale production. As you dig in, you turn pockets of wilderness into a sprawling web of factories and busy robotic workers.

Every new game throws you onto a totally different planet. The layout shifts, the biomes change, and the resources always turn up in new spots. You won’t see much of the world at first, so exploring is crucial. It’s how you grow—step by step, you build radio towers to push farther into the wilds, uncovering new territory, snagging rare materials, and stumbling on surprises tucked away in strange corners of the planet. Collecting resources is where it all begins. The further your factory chain goes, the more you chew through materials. Luckily, the planet keeps dangling valuable stuff just out of reach—if you’re willing to hunt for it and start up the machines to process it.

The world itself is made out of voxels—basically blocks—so you can dig, build, reshape, and flatten land as you see fit. Want to level a mountain or carve a new road to streamline your factory layout? Go for it. The terrain becomes another part of your toolbox.

There are more layers if you dig deeper. There’s a fog-of-war that pushes you to keep exploring, energy systems to balance, and a tech tree full of inventions that keep things fresh as you level up your colony.

As you sprawl across the planet, you’ll manage fleets of trucks hauling resources between far-flung outposts. The game’s world feels alive, too—trees grow and die, and if you’re clever, you can farm them for renewable resources.

It all comes together into a game about exploration, automation, and building something sprawling and efficient from scratch. It rewards cleverness, planning, and experimentation, letting you turn a hostile, alien world into your own industrial empire.

Once The Icaria is downloaded, right-click the .zip file and select “Extract to Icaria ”(You’ll need 7-Zip for this, get it here).
Open the Icaria folder and run the exe application.
Have a blast playing! Remember to run the game as administrator. If you get any missing dll errors, check for a Redist or _CommonRedist folder and install all the programs in there.
