HOLLOW COCOON OVERVIEW

You play as Minato Jinba, a college student who goes back to his mom’s hometown after finding out his grandma is in critical condition.It’s a first-person horror adventure game set in 1980s Japan.

Minato, a university student, lives in a boarding house in the city. One night, his dad, Eiji, calls with bad news: Minato’s grandma, Kinu Miyama, is in critical condition. Minato heads to Ichinose, a village deep in the mountains where his mom was born. He hasn’t seen his grandma in over a decade and holds a grudge against her because she didn’t attend her own daughter’s funeral.

As Minato rides the bus on a country road, he remembers the only conversation he had with his grandma:

“– The thing with silkworms, you know; even if they could leave their cocoons, they have no mouths to eat, and their wings do not fly. They simply lay their eggs and perish.

“People are the reason they suffer this fate.”

The sky turns blood-red at twilight, and the mountains cast eerie shadows.

When Minato gets to the house, he finds himself in a terrifying situation with a shocking truth. Experience a wild story with four different endings. Choose from three difficulty options, whether you just want to enjoy the story or want a tough challenge. You can even switch to an easier difficulty during gameplay (but you can’t switch back up).

If you get a game over, you can restart right from the last checkpoint. To help with motion sickness, there are features like adjustable viewing angles, a central dot display, and the option to turn off camera shaking.
