Escape Everlit is this cool point-and-click style visual novel with some light puzzles thrown in. It’s around 9 hours long, so not too crazy, but it definitely keeps you hooked the whole way through.

The wild part? It’s all made by just one solo developer, which is seriously impressive. If you’re into unpredictable plots, detective-style gameplay, switching between different characters’ perspectives, or just love a good sci-fi mystery, this one’s totally worth checking out.

The story is set in China, in the year 2042. Four totally different people — all from different backgrounds and with their own personalities — suddenly find themselves stranded on this weird remote island out in the middle of the ocean. No idea how they got there.

To escape, they have to dive into each other’s “Dreams,” which sounds kinda trippy, but it’s actually super cool in how it plays out. Each choice you make changes what happens, so you’ll get different endings depending on how you play. And the deeper you go, the more the real truth behind everything starts to show up.

You don’t just play as one person — you actually switch between all four main characters throughout the game. It makes the island feel alive, like there’s way more going on under the surface than it first seems.

If you’re into games with strong characters, mystery, cool sci-fi vibes, and gameplay that actually makes you think, Escape Everlit is honestly a hidden gem. It’s got emotion, suspense, and a lot of depth — definitely not your average visual novel.
