GAME OVERVIEW

This is a real-time-with-pause RPG, built in the spirit of games like Dragon Age: Origins and Neverwinter Nights, but with a bigger spotlight on combat and some light action RPG flavor. Don’t expect a mindless hack-and-slash, and it’s definitely not a Soulslike. Here, your choices in battle matter—a lot. You get tactical depth and real control over how you fight.

Combat splits into two modes, and you can pick whichever suits you best. In Automatic mode, you hand out commands and your character handles the fighting, much like the old-school CRPGs. Manual mode is more hands-on. You click every attack, control defense with specific buttons, and get a more active, action-driven feel, but you still need to think tactically.

Abilities are flexible too. You can tweak things like their power, range, or area of effect, sometimes even triggering extra actions mid-use. It makes every fight more interesting and lets you experiment with your approach. Liminal Escape Route

You’ll jump into real-time combat with the option to pause, tackle dialogue with multiple choices, and chase after both main storylines and side quests. Character customization is wide open—you choose your look and gender, and every weapon or piece of armor you equip actually shows up on your character. Trading, crafting, and enchanting aren’t just side activities; they’re part of how your character grows.

At the heart of the game sits a massive skill and ability tree. No rigid classes, no level caps. You can pick and mix any abilities you want, inventing your own builds and combos to match your playstyle.

Since there’s no level cap, your character just keeps growing. Eventually, you can reach almost godlike strength. Progress here means mastering the systems and getting creative with your builds—not grinding to hit some artificial ceiling.

The world itself is semi-open, filled with stark contrasts of light and shadow. Think The Lord of the Rings meets Dragon Age: Origins for visual inspiration. Exploration matters; the more you wander, the more secrets and atmosphere you discover.

Instead of sticking you with rigid classes, the game uses Archetypes. You can pick any ability, but some are tied to certain archetypes. Using those boosts your archetype level and unlocks passive perks. Archetypes borrow from the classics—Warrior, Rogue, Mage, Priest, Druid—but here they’re a lot more flexible.

Chasing a cure, you uncover a spreading darkness corrupting the land. Oddly enough, you feel drawn to it, like fixing the world is somehow tied to fixing yourself. Hunted by shadowy enemies and driven by questions you can’t shake, you set out on a journey full of danger, power, and self-discovery—trying to get to the bottom of the curse, the gods, and your real purpose.

Once The Elengard Ascension is downloaded, right-click the .zip file and select “Extract to Elengard Ascension ”(You’ll need 7-Zip for this, get it here).
Open the Elengard Ascension folder and run the exe application.
