BYTES: The Reverse Tower Defense flips the classic TD game on its head. Instead of defending, you’re the attacker, creating your own paths and using special tiles to dodge damage to your Bytes. Undersea 8

Here’s the scoop: a rogue AI called “NLAI 74a” or “Complexus” broke through New Life’s security, and now it’s your job to stop her from wrecking East Grid. Complexus is smart, setting up turrets to counter your moves, so no path stays safe for long. She earns credits by destroying your Bytes and uses them to buy and upgrade turrets, just like a player.

The game’s got semi-random elements and eight different turrets Complexus can use, keeping each level fresh. You’ll need to think on your feet, building paths and using special tiles to protect your Bytes. Jump gaps, teleport past walls, or speed past turrets to stay ahead.

You can tweak your Bytes’ formation, grouping them or spreading them out based on the threats you face. Choose between three types of Bytes or customize your waves in the Byte Beat levels. Unlock upgrades and tackle the 71 security nodes of East Grid in any order.

As you progress, the game remembers the order, letting you revisit scenes. With a full story, two main endings, and dialogue options to interact with characters, you play as a hacker hired by New Life to stop Complexus and save the city.
