Ever wondered what it’d be like to actually step into a mirror and meet your own reflection face-to-face? That’s exactly what AiliA throws at you. It’s a 3D puzzle adventure where mirrors aren’t just shiny surfaces—they’re entire worlds to explore.

You play as Ail, a girl risking everything to save her twin sister, Lia, who’s trapped inside the mirror realm. Ail’s one trick? She can slip through mirrors and wander inside these reflected spaces, turning what you see into something you can actually touch, walk on, and mess with.

Once you’re inside, everything flips. Reflections turn real. You can stroll along glassy walkways, activate strange mechanisms, and reshape the whole place. Log in

The way forward depends on how you move and spin the mirrors—suddenly, a new path appears, or a whole area shifts. Each puzzle pushes you to rethink what’s possible, blurring the line between what’s real and what’s just a trick of the light.

AiliA comes from a crew at NYU Game Center, and you can feel the indie spirit in every corner. There’s a bold Chinese artistic style woven through the whole game, too. It’s not just local buzz, either—AiliA has grabbed attention across the US, China, and Japan, snagging the 2023 China Game Innovation Award for Best Innovative Design and a bunch of festival nods along the way.

The soundtrack? That’s something special. Mark Benis brought together musicians who’ve worked on big names like Elden Ring and Final Fantasy XV. They blend traditional Chinese instruments—Erhu, Dizi, Xiao—with Western violin, making a soundscape that feels like a world in a mirror. They even mess with the music itself, flipping melodies and reversing audio to echo the game’s themes and deepen the bond between Ail and Lia.

Gameplay is packed with ideas. You’ll work with water reflections, recursive mirrors, all sorts of brain-bending puzzles. There are seven different areas, each inspired by traditional Chinese art, and they’re loaded with secrets—hidden rooms, side paths, little challenges tucked away where you least expect them. Over a hundred puzzles wait, ready to twist your brain in knots and test how well you can think in three dimensions.

The story doesn’t just unfold in a straight line. As Ail journeys deeper into the mirror world, fragments of real-life memories start to surface when mirrors shatter. And there’s a hidden thread tied to Lia—you piece it together by collecting Mirror Fragments, slowly revealing an emotional tale about loss, looking inward, and finding a way to make peace with yourself and the world around you.

Once The AiliA is downloaded, right-click the .zip file and select “Extract to AiliA ”(You’ll need 7-Zip for this, get it here).
Open the AiliA folder and run the exe application.
