X4 is like the ultimate space sandbox game that’s totally alive on your PC. Imagine thousands of ships and stations all doing their thing—trading, mining, and producing—all in a super realistic simulation. You start out as a lone pilot flying a fighter ship, but you can eventually grow into running a massive empire, commanding fleets, and designing huge space stations. You can jump from first-person action, like boarding ships and exploring their bridges, to deep strategy and management. The choices are totally yours. RAID

In X4, you can kick things off from different starting points and play as various characters, each with their own roles, relationships, and starting gear. But you’re never stuck in one path—you can explore, make cash through shady trades, lead big battle fleets, or become the top entrepreneur.

You can fly every ship yourself, from tiny scouts to massive carriers. The game makes it super smooth to move between ships—like hopping out, walking through a space station, and getting into another ship you’ve got parked there. You can even switch pilots just by clicking on their seat.

Further more X4 is also the first in the series to let factions and races build and expand their empires just like you do with space stations.

Once you’ve got a bunch of ships and NPCs working for you, managing everything is a breeze with the map. You can set ship paths and commands with simple clicks and drag-and-drop.
