GAME OVERVIEW

Imagine POOLS as an art gallery, but instead of looking at paintings, you’re exploring and listening to sounds. There aren’t many puzzles to solve, just a few mazes here and there. Sometimes, you might have to really think about where you’re going. But most of the time, you’re just… there.

There aren’t any monsters chasing you or jumping out at you, but the game can still feel kind of heavy. POOLS plays with the fear of being lost, darkness, and tight spaces.

There’s no user interface, no talking, and no background music. Instead, the game uses sounds to make you feel like you’re actually there. The sounds change depending on where you are. Walking through water is slower. All these things make the game feel super real and really tense.

There’s no typical story, no characters to meet, and no notes to find. But as you explore, you’ll start to see the world around you change. Rooms look and feel different. Each chapter has something special about it. You’re always finding new places, each with its own mystery.

There are six chapters in POOLS, and each one takes about 10 to 30 minutes to finish.

POOLS was inspired by internet things like “Liminal spaces,” “Found footage,” and “Backrooms,” especially “Backrooms Pools” or “Poolrooms.”

HOW TO DOWNLOAD

Click the Download button below and you’ll be redirected.
Wait for 5 seconds and then hit the blue ‘download now’ button. The download will start, so just hang tight.
Once The POOLS is downloaded, right-click the .zip file and select “Extract to The POOLS ” (You’ll need 7-Zip for this, get it here).
Open the The POOLS folder and run the exe application.
Have a blast playing! Remember to run the game as administrator. If you get any missing dll errors, check for a Redist or _CommonRedist folder and install all the programs in there.
