Anyone who catches it becomes dangerously strong, quick, and violent, so staying alive is a daily struggle now. Forget about electricity, clean water, or a steady food supply. All that’s left are small survivor groups, picking through the wreckage and trying to start over.

Nighttime? It’s brutal. That’s when the infected come in swarms, and your base gets put to the test. You’ll need every trick you’ve got: barricades, vehicles, weapons, spotlights, and a tough crew ready to defend what you’ve built. If you mess up resource management or let your defenses slip, you won’t last long.

As you settle in for the long haul, there’s more to do. Maybe you’ll focus on developing new tech—work toward a vaccine, or even a cure. Or maybe you’ll just try to turn your slice of the world into a thriving community where survivors stand a real chance. It’s up to you.

You’ll bump into other groups too. Some could be allies, open for trade or information, while others might see you as competition or a threat. That means you’ll have to make tough calls—work with others, negotiate, or sometimes fight for what you need. Trust is rare, and every encounter could go sideways fast.

It’s all about choices. The game mixes building, managing, exploring, defending your turf, and thinking through every decision. Every move you make shapes not just your story, but the fate of the last remnants of humanity.

Once The Infection Free Zone is downloaded, right-click the .zip file and select “Extract to Infection Free Zone ”(You’ll need 7-Zip for this, get it here).
Open the Infection Free Zone folder and run the exe application.
