GAME OVERVIEW

Years after a brutal disaster tore the world apart, what’s left isn’t exactly friendly. Most of the planet’s a wasteland, full of radiation and scorched earth, with a few fragile safe zones clinging to life.

The last survivors packed into giant city-states—places built by desperate refugees who showed up in endless waves. Now, those cities fight tooth and nail over scraps, always scheming or raiding to get what they need.

Step outside their walls and things get even uglier. Small settlements don’t last long unless they submit to the big cities, and if they don’t, well… raiders, gangs, or just plain old chaos usually wipe them out. Some of these groups run like armies, others are just a handful of desperate people, but they’re all dangerous. Just traveling from one place to another can be a gamble you lose.

Out here, survival isn’t just about dodging bullets and eating enough. You have to make choices, and those choices shape where the world’s going next. Staying fed and getting enough sleep is only half the fight.

You’ll have to deal with disease, weird mutations, and the constant threat of slipping back into chaos. Every move you make could help rebuild what’s left of civilization—or shove the world further into ruin, where only the ruthless have any hope.

When it’s time to fight, you can’t just barge in. Combat’s turn-based, so planning pays off and recklessness gets you killed. As you explore, you build your character up, sharpen your skills, figure out how to craft gear, and keep yourself alive with whatever you can hunt, fish, or scavenge.

People matter, too—or at least, your reputation does. Earn some trust with a city or a gang, and you’ll unlock rare gear or special missions. Screw them over, and you might find the whole faction gunning for you. Out here, every choice counts. Where you end up—and what kind of future you help create—comes down to the paths you carve through this broken world.

Once The Ruinlander is downloaded, right-click the .zip file and select “Extract to Ruinlander ”(You’ll need 7-Zip for this, get it here).
Open the Ruinlander folder and run the exe application.
Have a blast playing! Remember to run the game as administrator. If you get any missing dll errors, check for a Redist or _CommonRedist folder and install all the programs in there.
