GAME OVERVIEW
Dragonkin: The Banished just dropped yesterday, March 16, 2026. It’s an isometric action RPG where the world’s basically infected by draconic blood.
Eko Software built this one, and you spend most of your time fighting for humanity’s survival inside Montescail, a mountain stronghold.
You get to shape Montescail yourself—developing and upgrading it to unlock services you’ll need. Whether you’re playing solo or teaming up with three friends, you pick from four heroes: Knight, Barbarian, Oracle, or Archer. The main goal? Track down and take out the Dragon Lords. What really makes character building stand out here is the Ancestral Grid—the whole system lets you snag skills and modifiers from enemies you defeat, then mix and match them to create your own combat style. It’s deep, and you end up spending a lot of time experimenting, way more than you do in most games like this.
Starship Troopers: Ultimate Bug War! launched on the same day. The United Citizen Federation calls you up for this one—a first-person shooter with a retro twist. Auroch Digital went all-in on that classic “boomer shooter” vibe, so expect quick, frantic battles as you mow down wave after wave of giant bugs on sprawling, sandbox maps.
You play as Sammy, a trooper under Major Samantha Dietz, and you get access to over 30 iconic weapons: Morita rifles, tactical nukes, pilotable mechs—it’s wild. The whole game plays out as a Federation training sim, complete with high-quality FMV cutscenes.
Casper Van Dien returns as General Johnny Rico, so fans will get a kick out of that. There’s even a “Bug Mode,” so you can swap sides and play as one of the Arachnids, experiencing the chaos from the hive’s point of view.
