GAME OVERVIEW

Sherman Commander doesn’t really go for blockbuster tank battles—it drops you right into the tough, slow grind of life inside a “lumbering war machine.”

Iron Wolf Studio, from Poland, just pushed this out two days ago (March 14, 2026), with Daedalic Entertainment handling the publishing side.

You’re calling the shots as a platoon leader, managing your crew, running a team of Shermans, and coordinating with infantry as you fight your way through Normandy, the Battle of the Bulge, and Aachen—these battlefields feel authentic, not just a Hollywood set piece.

It’s kind of a blend—three gameplay styles in one. You can sit in the commander’s seat and soak up the cramped atmosphere, zoom down to eye-level and give orders to individual units, or pull way back to a classic RTS-style map to handle big-picture strategy.

The whole idea is to nail “battlefield awareness.” It’s on you to make smart use of whatever’s around—blowing up a hedge to open up a shot, or dropping smoke and laying down suppressive fire to help your guys move up.

Steam reviews are a mixed bag (sitting at about 56%), but plenty of players are into how seriously the game takes its historical accuracy, and how much it demands you step up as a leader—not just press buttons.

You can grab Sherman Commander right now on PC through Steam. It’s got a bit of a documentary vibe—cinematic, grounded, and faithful to the armored combat that played out in Europe during WWII.
