GAME OVERVIEW

HOTEL BARCELONA is a wild, bloody 2.5D slasher game made by two absolute legends—SUDA51 and SWERY. The whole thing is set in this creepy hotel in the middle of nowhere, like right on the border of Pennsylvania and West Virginia.

On the outside, it looks all fancy and high-class, but inside? It’s a straight-up death trap packed with America’s most dangerous serial killers. Yeah, it’s that kind of game.

You play as Justine, a rookie federal marshal with a serious twist—she shares her mind with Dr. Carnival, a straight-up maniac and former killer. Nietzsche’s Shadow

So, you’ve got this dual-personality thing going on where you’re basically hunting serial killers… while also kind of being one. It’s messed up, but in a cool way. Your goal? Wipe out every killer in the hotel and get the hell out alive.

The gameplay isn’t just some basic side-scroller either. It’s fast, super tactical, and you have to time everything just right. Think precision dodging, smart movement, and knowing when to go all in. The levels are full of traps and crazy horror vibes straight out of an old-school 80s slasher flick.

One of the coolest mechanics is this thing called Slasher Phantoms. Every time you die, a version of your past self is created and it plays out your exact moves from before.

And yeah, those phantoms actually hurt enemies. So you can stack them up, use them as bait, shields, or basically create an army of your own failures. It’s brutal, but in a genius way.

And the blood? It’s not just there to look cool. The more you fight, the more soaked in blood you get—and that literally powers you up.

There’s a Skull Gauge that fills as you go full psycho on enemies, and once it maxes out, you can trigger Carnival Awakening, which is basically your final form: totally unstoppable and kind of terrifying.
