Yo, from the awesome peeps at WayForward (you know, the ones behind Shantae, River City Girls, and Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp) comes Yars Rising Free Download. It’s a 2D action-adventure that dives into one of Atari’s classic hits.

In this game, WayForward totally flips the Yars franchise into an epic 2D platformer. You play as Emi Kimura, a young hacker who’s hired by a shady benefactor to sneak into the sketchy QoTech corporation you’ll be running, jumping, sneaking, and hacking through all sorts of challenges as you piece together a seriously juicy secret. As Emi levels up, she can backtrack and access hidden areas. Her hacking skills get better too, unlocking cool mini-games that nod to the classic Atari 2600 game, Yars’ Revenge.

The deeper Emi digs into QoTech, the crazier the sci-fi mystery gets. She meets a bunch of quirky hacker buddies who help her connect with an alien race and unlock some wild new powers. Emi’ll be jumping, blasting, and sneaking past robotic and alien enemies as she grows stronger, she gets rad upgrades and new hacks to explore even more.
