GAME OVERVIEW

Humans dried up the Earth and vanished, but some creatures adapted. Now, you’re in charge of a beaver colony, fighting to keep it alive as long as you can.

Right from the start, you pick a side: the eco-friendly Folktails or the tough, industrial Iron Teeth. Each group comes with its own buildings, tech, and play style, so your experience changes depending on who you lead.

The game’s water physics and terraforming tools let you craft dams, dig canals and tunnels, and build aqueducts, shaping the terrain however you want. Origament: A Paper Adventure

The world doesn’t make it easy for you. Seasons shift, droughts hit, and toxic waves roll in. You’ve got to stockpile resources, carefully manage water, and keep your land fertile—even when rivers run dry.

Space matters, too. You build vertically, stacking structures, creating platforms and bridges, and weaving together complex power networks. Beavers zip around using ziplines and tubeways, so movement stays quick and efficient.

The lumberpunk style is all about turning wood into powerful machines—like water wheels, engines, and pumps. Metal is rare, so you have to scavenge it from ancient ruins.

Automation is a big deal here. You set up sensors and controls to keep things running smoothly, and eventually you can unlock bot workers that never need sleep and handle risky jobs. As your colony grows, you still need to look after your beavers. Feed them well, entertain them, and add decorations to keep everyone happy and productive.

There’s a map editor, plus full mod support, so you can make your own worlds or play with community-created content. In the end, Timberborn delivers a layered, endlessly replayable city-building survival game that keeps you coming back for more.

Once The Timberborn is downloaded, right-click the .zip file and select “Extract to Timberborn ”(You’ll need 7-Zip for this, get it here).
Open the Timberborn folder and run the exe application.
Have a blast playing! Remember to run the game as administrator. If you get any missing dll errors, check for a Redist or _CommonRedist folder and install all the programs in there.
