GAME OVERVIEW
The Killing Stone blends the strategy of a card game with the eerie vibe of 17th-century folk horror. It hit Early Access on February 18, 2026, brought to life by Question—the folks who made The Blackout Club and The Magic Circle.
You end up in a lonely Arctic mansion, playing as the Maven, an occult expert and the only friend left to the late Mariken Svangård. Your job? Outsmart the Devil and break a family curse before something called the “Reckoning” shows up.
The heart of the game is the Fanghella, a ceremonial board where you fight for the souls of the Svangård family. Ready or Not: Boiling Point
Battles use animated figurines and a Reserve System, letting you stack units and buffs above the battle line—so you can play them later, when the timing feels right. But it’s not just about the board.
You wander the estate in first person, grilling family members and their animal familiars for clues about the curse’s origins.
One thing that really stands out: the game’s story unfolds in both 17th-century Period English and Modern English—with full voice acting from Emma Gregory (Baldur’s Gate 3) and Liam O’Brien (Critical Role). You can flip between styles anytime, which is pretty cool.
By March 16, 2026, fans on Steam were really into it, calling it Very Positive. The team had wanted to launch the full version right off, but switched to Early Access to fine-tune pacing and expand the Ritual mechanics.
The first big update came on February 27, adding support for new languages. Honestly, The Killing Stone is shaping up to be the new standard for storytelling in deckbuilding games.
HOW TO DOWNLOAD

- Have a blast playing! Remember to run the game as administrator. If you get any missing dll errors, check for a Redist or _CommonRedist folder and install all the programs in there.
