GAME OVERVIEW

Spark in the Dark throws you right into the thick of things—a pitch-black world wrapped around an ancient dungeon, stuffed with frightening legends and a history nobody really remembers. People have talked about this place for ages, almost like an old ghost story.

It’s been there longer than humans, and now it’s crawling with monsters and secrets that nobody totally gets. You play as someone brave (or reckless) enough to venture in, pushing deeper into the unknown to find out what’s really hiding below.

This is no cheerful adventure. It’s a gritty, atmospheric dungeon crawler set against a grim medieval backdrop. You pick one of five hero classes—each brings its own flavor and strategy to the fight. The Occultist

Surviving is tough—every step means confronting brutal battles, nasty traps, and dangers that never play fair. Even the dungeon itself feels alive, always testing you, making you think twice before moving.

The real magic comes from the lore buried everywhere. Hidden tunnels, old diaries, mysterious books, scraps of notes—they’re all waiting to be found. As you try to stay alive, you also start stitching together this puzzle: Who built the dungeon? What happened here? Is there any hope of escape, or is it endless?

Progression feels real. Your hero actually gets better at things by doing them—a bit battered by injuries, curses, and blessings along the way. Gear wears out and breaks, so you’ll need to fix your stuff or find replacements.

And because everything’s procedurally generated, no two runs are ever the same. New enemies, different loot, chunks of the dungeon shifting around—it always keeps you guessing.

At its heart, Spark in the Dark is about survival, digging deeper, and unraveling mysteries. With every descent, things get nastier and the stakes climb.

Eventually, you’ll have to ask yourself: Can you make it out alive, or will you just become another shadow lost in the depths?

Once The Spark in the Dark is downloaded, right-click the .zip file and select “Extract to Spark in the Dark ”(You’ll need 7-Zip for this, get it here).
Open the Spark in the Dark folder and run the exe application.
Have a blast playing! Remember to run the game as administrator. If you get any missing dll errors, check for a Redist or _CommonRedist folder and install all the programs in there.
