Methods: The Canada Files throws you right back into the intense world of competitive deduction—but this time, there’s a Canadian spin. The full version dropped on March 5, 2026, and it’s actually a prequel to Methods: The Detective Competition.

Instead of juggling a huge lineup of 100 detectives like before, this game zooms in on Team Tads, a tight-knit group with Larika Downs leading the way. She’s joined by Tads, Anadyne, Struess, and Viu, each with their own quirks.

Their mission? Work through six tangled cases all across Canada, from the mountains in Vancouver to the busy corners of Montreal, and try to figure out who’s really pulling the strings behind the tournament. Machine Mind

This time around, mystery solving isn’t just about picking the right answer from a list. The game actually pushes you to use your teammates’ special skills to dig up evidence. Viu’s great at spotting things others miss, while Anadyne handles anything to do with poisons or weird substances.

After you pick apart the crime scenes, you hit the “Mystery Stage.” Here, you’re up against bad theories, and it’s on you to shoot them down with proof you’ve gathered.

Each of the six cases takes about two to four hours, and everything builds up to one final showdown with mastermind Joane Tremblay. That’s where all the secrets about the competition finally come out.

On the visual and sound side, the game keeps its hand-drawn style but adds more interactive 3D touches and a slicker way to handle your case files.

New players can jump in without feeling lost, but longtime fans get extra story details and can hang out with the team between cases.
