Warships of the Pacific shakes up Hearts of Iron IV’s naval experience with some sharp new visuals. Paradox Interactive dropped this cosmetic expansion yesterday, March 17, 2026, and it’s all about bringing legendary ships to life right on the world map.
You get 30 new 3D models—each one carefully crafted—that showcase the Pacific’s naval power from quick coastal ships to the massive carriers and battleships that ruled the waves during World War II.
There’s a solid international lineup here. Japan fans get classics like the battleship Kongo, the giant carrier Shinano, and the wild I-400 Sen Toku submarine carrier. Elemental Reforged
For the Allies, American heavy hitters like Nevada and Tennessee show up, along with Commonwealth stars such as the carrier Illustrious and the submarine Trenchant.
Even regional navies get their spotlight, with ships like the Republican Chinese cruiser Ning-Hai, the PRC destroyer Anshan, and Soviet subs including the Shchuka.
These detailed models slip right into Hearts of Iron IV’s naval interface, making the game’s sea battles feel a lot more authentic.
Whether you’re orchestrating a huge invasion or locking down an ocean with a blockade, these ships really amp up both the look and the sense of history.
