Dragon Quest VII Reimagined takes the series’ most divisive entry and turns it into something fresh, lively, and impossible to ignore.

It dropped on February 5, 2026, with Square Enix and HEXADRIVE behind the wheel, ditching those old, gritty 2D sprites for a gorgeous diorama style.

The visuals look like miniature worlds you could reach out and touch—part puppet theater, part storybook that somehow breathes. Life is Strange: Reunion

You step into the shoes of a fisherman’s kid from Estard—a lonely little island—who teams up with Kiefer and Maribel.

Together, they stumble onto a wild secret: the rest of the world is gone, sealed off in the past. To fix things, you jump through time, patching together the broken stories of lost civilizations. Some of their tales are tragic, others have a spark of hope, but each one matters.

The big shake-up comes with the new Moonlighting system. Now, you’re not stuck picking just one job for your party members. Everyone can equip two vocations at once, meaning you get access to the best spells, stats, and tricks from both—leading to some wild, overpowered battles if you know what you’re doing.

They’ve trimmed the fat, too. The old, glacial 100-hour slog is now a much more manageable 40-60 hour quest, so you don’t need to set aside half your life to see how everything plays out.

Getting around is easier, too: you can wipe out weaker enemies instantly in the overworld, toggle on auto-battles when things get repetitive, and heal up right before major fights thanks to convenient healing statues. All of this makes the game way friendlier to newcomers without losing what made it special in the first place.

HOW TO DOWNLOAD

3. Once The DRAGON QUEST VII Reimagined is downloaded, right-click the .zip file and select “Extract to DRAGON QUEST VII Reimagined ”(You’ll need 7-Zip for this, get it here).
4. Open the DRAGON QUEST VII Reimagined folder and run the exe application.
5. Have a blast playing! Remember to run the game as administrator. If you get any missing dll errors, check for a Redist or _CommonRedist folder and install all the programs in there.
