GAME OVERVIEW

Darkwater brings a heavy sense of dread to the deep sea and throws you right into a fight for survival. It’s a co-op horror game, out since March 26, 2026, where you and up to three others get trapped under the icy surface of an alien moon.

After some kind of outbreak, the government seals off the ocean, and all that’s left is a maze of abandoned outposts and pitch-black waters.

You’ve got to keep scrambling for fuel and collecting weird bits of data that hint at what really destroyed the planet. Pieced Together

The core gameplay feels like a mix of tense submarine battles and nerve-wracking scavenging. Sitting in the captain’s chair, you pilot your sub, manage sonar, use weapons, and keep an eye out for enemy ships or massive sea monsters.

The best loot, though, isn’t floating around—it’s inside crumbling underwater bases. So you dock, step into the darkness, and face “infected divers” or alien monsters with anything from a sledgehammer to a shotgun.

Right now, Darkwater’s in Early Access on Steam for PC. Players love the suffocating atmosphere and the deep ship-management mechanics.

Since launch last week, it’s held onto a “Very Positive” rating, especially due to the thrill of boarding enemy subs.

The devs are on it too; as of March 30, 2026, they’ve already patched the co-op servers to make four-player battles run way smoother.

Open the Darkwater folder and run the exe application.
