GAME OVERVIEW

Dive into *Barotrauma*, a 2D co-op survival horror submarine sim where you and your crew can either band together to survive or throw each other under the bus and watch the ship go down in flames and water. Think of it like a mix of *FTL: Faster Than Light*, *Rimworld*, *Dwarf Fortress*, and *Space Station 13*, but with alien sea monsters, ragdoll physics, and a whole lot of existential dread.

In the near future, humanity’s chilling on Jupiter’s moon, Europa. Its icy surface is a no-go zone, but the ocean below is where all the action happens. Steel Division 2

*Barotrauma* offers endless ways to play: team up with your crew to get stuff done, or brace yourself for some epic betrayal with a traitor in the mix.

You’ll be exploring, fighting monsters, and completing missions for humanity’s last hope. Manage complex on-board systems like sonar, nuclear reactors, weapons, engines, and pumps. Create custom submarines and monsters with the built-in editors or get creative with mods by accessing the source code.

You can have up to 16 players on a single sub, and if you’re flying solo, bots can fill in. There are 6 player classes—Captain, Engineer, Mechanic, Medic, Security Officer, and Assistant—each with their own skills and talents. Level up and unlock talents to tailor your playstyle.

Choose your allies and build your reputation, or deal with the fallout from your decisions. With procedurally generated worlds and missions, plus multiple game modes, *Barotrauma* offers almost endless replayability.

Craft gear, weapons, and medicines to keep your crew alive. Use the Submarine, Character, and Procedural Animation editors to share and find mods on Steam Workshop. Plus, game data is exposed in .xml, and the source code is on GitHub for all your modding needs.

HOW TO DOWNLOAD

Once The Barotrauma is downloaded, right-click the .zip file and select “Extract to The Barotrauma ” (You’ll need 7-Zip for this, get it here).
Open the The Barotrauma folder and run the exe application.
Have a blast playing! Remember to run the game as administrator. If you get any missing dll errors, check for a Redist or _CommonRedist folder and install all the programs in there.
