NBA 2K26 really shakes things up for the basketball sim series, dropping officially on September 5, 2025. The team leaned hard into ProPLAY™ tech, and you can tell — it uses machine learning to pull real NBA footage right into the game, so every move looks and feels more like the actual players.

Pull up with Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, who’s on the cover this year, and you’ll notice his step-back and defensive slides have a real signature style.

Now you can create your own Crew — basically custom teams with your own branding — and go head-to-head in structured matches, fighting for spots on global leaderboards.

The “Gen 9” updates finally bring the PC version up to speed with PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, including every City activity and the fresh animation overhaul.

MyTEAM’s big move this year is adding WNBA player cards. Now you can build mixed squads with legends and standouts from both leagues, something people have wanted for ages. As of today, March 25, 2026, Season 5 is underway, spotlighting college basketball.

This update brought officially licensed universities into the mix for the first time, flooding the mode with campus rewards like 100 OVR cards for stars like Jayson Tatum and Paige Bueckers, plus real uniforms and school logos.

Franchise fans get new toys too. MyNBA now features 30 distinct MyGM storylines, each inspired by real NBA situations, making the GM role deeper and more lifelike than before.

The mode now offers Online Playoffs, so you and your friends can dive right into postseason brackets and try to snag a championship ring without the grind. With Season 6 rolling out on April 3, 2026, everyone’s hyped for the “Bracket Busters Festival,” making this a jam-packed season, maybe the busiest the game’s ever seen.
