GAME OVERVIEW

In Tales of the Fallen Stars, you’re the last shot your kingdom’s got. You drift down a winding river, chasing after a cure for a strange sickness and trying to figure out where that odd scent on the water comes from.

The stories talk about “otherworldly stones” that could save everyone, so you hold onto those legends as you steer your little raft through scenery that changes every time you play.

Nothing stays the same — the river twists in new ways, the weather shifts, day turns to night, and suddenly you can’t see more than a few feet ahead. You’ve got to keep your supplies in check and stay sharp if you want to survive. MITNAL

Trouble? It’s never far. Archers, javelin throwers, and spellcasters all want to take you out, popping up from the banks or attacking straight from the water. Sometimes you’ll have to make a quick call: do you storm a fortress for the loot and experience, or wait for night and sneak by while everyone’s sleeping? Upgrading your raft helps.

Bring on more crew, strap on some siege engines, and suddenly you’ve got a fighting chance. Of course, the river isn’t everything. You’ll have to get off the boat now and then, diving into dungeons or mines, fighting off monsters and wild animals just to scrounge up the supplies you need.

The heart of your quest? It’s your crew — “the bravest soldiers your pouch has to offer.” Stop by villages and mercenary camps to bring in Archers, Mages, Spearmen, or stumble onto new classes in secret spots off the beaten path. If you want to make it, you can’t just fight — you’ve got to trade.

Local merchants have their own prices and rare gear, and sometimes you’ll find flotsam floating by that’s just what you need to upgrade your equipment. Keep your people in shape, pick the right tools for the job, and, sooner or later, you’ll uncover what really happened to the fallen stars. The kingdom’s future? That’s on you.

HOW TO DOWNLOAD

Once The Dreadful River is downloaded, right-click the .zip file and select “Extract to Dreadful River ”(You’ll need 7-Zip for this, get it here).
Open the Dreadful River folder and run the exe application.
Have a blast playing! Remember to run the game as administrator. If you get any missing dll errors, check for a Redist or _CommonRedist folder and install all the programs in there.
